The renovation and energy efficiency improvements at the Ordinary Court of Rome achieved primary energy savings meeting at least 20% of NZEB requirements and reused 70% of recyclable demolition waste, aligning with PNRR plans. The design strategy aimed to minimise invasive interventions while meeting current and future client needs, maximising energy savings and preserving the historical integrity of the structure. The design development considered phased implementation to minimise disruption to the property's user activities. The efficiency project began with a detailed analysis of the building's current electrical and thermal energy consumption to assess final consumption and identify high-impact, cost-effective interventions. These investigations helped define project objectives and pinpoint strategies to optimise thermal and electrical energy management. The objective of the project can be summarised with the restoration of the façades to optimal conservation conditions, including plastering, travertine elements, and iron features. This effort aimed to reintegrate the building into a cohesive whole that respected historical evidence, materials, and documentation, ensuring the architectural structures were fully appreciated and enjoyed.
