Near Piazza IV Novembre stands Palazzo Manzoni, one of the few examples of eighteenth-century architecture in the Umbrian capital. Contributing to the urban fabric of Piazza Morlacchi, it is complemented by the former palace stables, now home to the Humanistic Library of the University of Perugia, Palazzo Bianchi, and the Morlacchi Theatre, which it borders. The project focused on fully restoring the building's external facades and replacing its fixtures. This effort aimed to restore dignity and elegance to the palace, whilst enhancing thermal, humidity, and acoustic comfort. Additionally, the renovations aimed to achieve cost savings in management and maintenance, reflecting a commitment to improving the property's energy efficiency. Specifically, priority was given to the restoration and conservative rehabilitation of the main façade facing Piazza Morlacchi. This included replacing all historic fixtures with new ones that are both compatible and capable of providing excellent thermo-hygrometric and acoustic comfort. Additionally, works were undertaken on the roof, incorporating lifelines and an anti-bird control system. Throughout these interventions, efforts were made to minimise invasiveness whilst ensuring functionality aligned with both current and future client needs.
