The constant increase in demand for parking spaces at Linate Airport has led to evaluating the opportunity of expanding the parking facilities. The plan involved building a new six-storey car park, as well as a ground floor, on the site currently occupied by the North car park, providing a total of 2,500 additional spaces. The new structure constitutes an expansion of the airport's parking system and is functionally interconnected with the existing multi-storey car park. The two facilities are linked by two bridges, sharing an integrated access/exit control system and overall space management. The 5th and 6th floors cover a smaller surface area than the first four floors due to aeronautical constraints related to the take-off and transition plan of the adjacent runway. The total surface area of the new building designated for parking is 65,400 m². Including the ground floor's external accessory areas along the East, South, and West fronts, the planimetric projection of the circular ramps on each floor, and the connecting bridges, the overall area amounts to approximately 71,700 m². Additionally, 10,000 m² of external space were adapted to accommodate the new road configuration.
