The former Psychiatric Hospital complex in Borgo Ruga, Feltre, comprises three mid-20th century buildings, an older structure, and the ancient Convent of Ognissanti complex with its Church, alongside various ancillary buildings used for storage and similar functions. The recovery project for the entire complex, slated to become a Centre for Higher Education and Consulting Services for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, focused on several key interventions, among which: structural consolidation, demolition, and reconstruction of stairwells to restore vertical circulation, functionality, and safety, ensuring rational and spacious internal layouts suitable for the intended activities. Additionally, the construction of emergency stairs to provide a secondary escape route, and redistribution and rationalisation of horizontal pathways, including a new connection between buildings to unify the "connective" areas. Ultimately, the creation of clear and easily navigable spaces, incorporating small rest and meeting areas on the mezzanine floor, and ensuring safety throughout areas designated for teaching, laboratories, and research. The design prioritised the preservation of architectural and structural elements, respecting historical constraints imposed by the Superintendence. Where feasible under current regulations and the new intended use, these aspects were retained to maintain the complex's historical integrity.
