The intervention, as part of the Complex Urban Program known as the "Urban Forum of the Park," focused on the restructuring and redevelopment of the former tobacco factory warehouse. This urban architectural space, previously in evident disrepair, has been revitalised, rekindling the historical memory of the Umbertide community, which has long been connected to one of the main economic drivers of the Umbrian Region. The architectural layout and structural characteristics of the building are typical of warehouses attached to the tobacco factory. The project aimed to reintegrate this area into the city, transforming it into a spacious and open meeting place—a focal point of aggregation. By introducing new functions, the intervention reintegrates the area into the flow of citizens, reconfiguring the free and built spaces to create a functionally complex system with easy connectivity between various activities. The intervention was tasked with providing a clear and recognisable formal and functional identity. From a construction standpoint, the decision was made to fully recover the industrial archaeology of the former tobacco warehouse, preserving its architecture as an emblem of the area's historical memory, already integrated into the urban context. The internal spaces have been reorganised based around potential uses, maintaining the formal characteristics and keeping internal modifications to a minimum. The ground floor features a multipurpose room, kept entirely open and usable, with a mezzanine floor above it. Access to this floor is provided by two single-flight staircases and an elevator on the southwest side. This floor also grants access to a panoramic terrace on the flat roof of the building's porticoed platform. The intervention was awarded the “Zero Barriers" certification and an "A" energy class rating.
