Amidst Federician memories, the naturalistic landscape, and the agricultural identity of the territory, the restoration of the Palazzo D'Avalos Masseria is a project that transcends the merely functional recovery of a building with significant historical and architectural value. It presents a remarkable opportunity to reconnect the last remnants of the lowland forest with the memory of the extraordinarily symbiotic relationship shared by the Magna Capitanata and Frederick II. The Bosco dell'Incoronata Regional Park, featuring its scientific treasures unveiled within a state-of-the-art Visitor Centre, is reintegrated through an engaging multimedia tour that explores the history of Frederick II's domus solaciorum. This restoration project aims to revive a tangible — and not merely legendary — historically significant site, bridging the gap between Frederick II and the natural landscape of Foggia. The structure will play a pivotal role as a cultural centre, promoting local identity and socio-economic development through synergies with diverse local stakeholders. It will act as a "bridge" connecting historical narratives, particularly in the re-enactment of Frederick II's legacy, with future endeavours focused on biodiversity research.
