The recently approved project involves the restoration, repurposing, and conservation of the former Carreri and Stazione di Forza e Luce buildings within the Arsenale of Venice. The goal is to make these structures accessible for multifunctional cultural uses while preserving the industrial archaeology elements that define them.
The intervention is part of the plan for the development and enhancement of the activities of "La Biennale di Venezia" to realize a permanent center of national and international excellence. The initiative's aim is to adapt the two historic structures to contemporary use while preserving their historical integrity.
